Kunming runs bullet trains to Chongqing and Chengdu

[InKunming--Kunming] The bullet train G2886 from Kunming South Railway Station started operating at 8:08 am on January 25th. It takes 4 hours and 46 minutes to arrive at Chongqing West Railway Station and 2 more hours to Chengdu East Railway Station, which means that people can travel among Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province, Sichuan Province and Chongqing City by taking a bullet train from now on.

Yu-Gui Railway route (Chongqing-Guizhou Railway) has been put on operation from January 25th. There are 5 pairs bullet trains from Kunming to Chongqing and Chengdu. So far, bullet train from Kunming South Railway Station can directly reach 17 main cities around China.

There are 3 bullet trains from Chongqing West Railway Station to Kunming South Railway Station in the initial operational period, including G2872 (8:35—13:43), G2874 (9:53—14:34), G2876 (10:30—15:21) and the second-class ticket requires 341.5 yuan. Meanwhile, the bullet trains from Kunming South Railway Station to Chengdu East Railway Station include G2886 (8:08—14:40) and G2888 (9:04—15:39) and the second-class ticket is 487.5 yuan. Most importantly, the traveling time from Kunming to Chongqing by means of railway is greatly reduced from one day to about 4 hours while the duration between Kunming and Chengdu is cut down from 20 hours to nearly 6.5 hours. People can appreciate the gorgeous scenery in Kunming in the morning and then go to taste a hot pot in Chongqing or Chengdu within a day. It is likely to operate more trains from Kunming to Xi’an or Lanzhou in the near future, according to the staff from Kunming Bureau of China Railway Group.
