[InKunming--Yunnan] The opening ceremony of Naxi Cultural Experience Center and the promotion meeting of Lijiang cultural tourism and attractions were jointly held in Lijiang city, Yunnan province on January 16, based on the aim of protecting national culture, developing culture industry, and exploring the new model and new form of Lijiang cultural tourism.

The experience center combining technology with culture divided the exhibition hall into six parts, including Naxi overture, Naxi epic genesis, performance and interaction, Naxi original artwork, hectometer picture of Naxi culture, and VR Naxi magical journey. The latter two are the highlights in the experience center.

According to introduction, the hectometer picture of Naxi culture is the first dynamic picture in China which shows folk custom. With the “tea horse ancient road” as the clue, the picture contains nearly a thousand vivid characters reflecting the interaction of Naxi people, so that visitors can feel the fun of Lijiang folk culture more intuitively.

“In addition to being able to experience the Naxi culture, the center is a base for the dissemination in inheritance of Naxi culture,” Yi Chenmu, the director of operation of the experience center, said. The center will promote the history of Naxi culture and the knowledge of Dongba culture through the official WeChat account. At the same time, the inheritor of Lijiang intangible culture is invited to transform the center into a cultural research and education base, opening for primary and middle school students.

The cultural experience center will introduce some of Naxi’s original artworks before Spring Festival. Meanwhile, Dali Bai culture experience center and Shangri-La cultural experience center are already in the planning. In the future, the center will rely on the rich resources of ethnic minorities in Yunnan to expand the cultural influence to other cities in China. Through creating new cultural experience to visitors, the center will take efforts to form a new tourism industry with the characteristics of integrating art and technology, and combining business with cultural products.
