[InKunming--Kunming] The huge crowd in Jinbi square gathering together to celebrate Christmas Eve yesterday, but not like before there were not spray snow and spray ribbon anymore. Instead, the balloons with twinkled lights increased, which are recently popular on social media. However, these balloons may bring some festive atmosphere though, they are filled with hydrogen gas and are easily to explode when there is a fire. It is recommend to use the balloon in a safer space.

Ruijuan Zhao from the Environment and Hygiene Management Center of Xishan District said that everyone is more civilized and there are no vendors selling spray snow comparing with past years. Zhao introduced, “in fact, the environmental hygiene of Kunming’s Christmas Eve has improved a lot since last year. There is less garbage in the streets than previous years, and we are mostly off at 11:30 pm. In the past years, the garbage was too much to clean even until 5 am.”

Online response presented positively on this Christmas Eve. Some said, “walking down the street in the city center, you can’t find a bottle of spray snow, but there are many city inspectors and police.” This more civilized Christmas is attributed to the regulation published on 18th Dec. The Xishan branch of Kunming public security bureau issued a notice of public security control. The announcement said who disrupts public order in public places will be punished severely during Christmas. It is forbidden to use spray snow, plastic pneumatic hammer, Kongming Lantern, fireworks and so on.

There were many enjoyable and exciting activities yesterday. A children choir gave beautiful songs at Shuncheng shopping mall. They dressed in white coats and red Christmas hats, swing slowly in the music accompaniment, like little Santa Claus coming to the scene. They performed three classic Christmas songs, “Silent Night”, “Jingle Bells”, and “We wish you a Merry Christmas”.

Meanwhile, an electronic music party and pillow fight were booming at Jinding M60 cultural and creative park. Accompanied by the strong rhythm music, young people raised huge white pillow fighting with each other. White feathers fell slowly down like snow brought joy on this Christmas Eve.
