3D dining concept “Le Petit Chef” to land in Kunming from 26th

[InKunming--Kunming] A video that went viral on YouTube not long ago showed that a mini projected “chef” produced by glasses-free 3D technology was serving customers with delicious French cuisine right on the table.

As this video gets increasingly popular around the world,a number of people are eager to experience this novel way of having dinner. Here comes the good news for foodies in Kunming that this fancy dinner will land in Kunming from 26th October. Citizens can go and have a niec try at the Lan Restaurant on the 50th floor of Sofitel Hotel.

It is reported that “Le Petit Chef” is produced by a Belgian team named Skull Mapping. After receiving high popularity in Europe, it is introduced in major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanjing and etc.

Those who have tried French cuisine would know that it usually takes quite a while for your dishes to be ready. However, the accompany of a cute mini chef who is busying cooking your food right on your plate will definitely make the waiting process more interesting.

Instead of regarding this banquet as a meal, it is more like an adventure of the mini chef. There are two main courses and one desert in this banquet equipped with 3D image.

First of all, the mini chef will take you to the ocean shore and prepare a dish of seafood for you. The table will be “turned” into blue ocean with the soup base placed on the plate. Everything that the tiny chef catches will be put on the plate. In the process of cooking, a huge octopus is slowly approaching. Though frightened, the mini chef takes out a knife and fight against the octopus. He even cut down some tentacles to add into the soup.

Unfortunately, aother octopus attacks the chef behind him and throws him into a mussel. Before customers come to the real world, a dish of stewed seafood with exquisite setting has been served, containing a bunch of mouth-watering seafood.

After finishing the stewed seafood, the mini chef will emerges under the table, and is ready to make the steak for you. This time, the plate is turned into a stove, on which placed a one-inch-thick steak. The mini chef picks up vegetables from his “garden” and throws them on the stove. Suddenly, a fly appears. In order to whisk the fly, the mini chef knocks down the oil can into the stove by accident, which leads to a huge explosion. The mini chef is panic and falls into the exit where he climbs up. After the 3D image, waiters will bring you dishes looking exactly the same as what you just saw in the 3D video.

As for the dessert, the mini chef especially goes to the north pole to provide customers yummy ice-cream with chocolate sauce.

In order to present excellent effect, plate used were all exported from France. The clumsy actions, funny voice of the mini chef, hilarious plot and innovative concept all contribute to the big success of this glasses-free 3D banquet.

In a nutshell, the dining concept features 3D projection mapping, adding entertainment to the dining experience. If you want to eat dishes “made” by the mini chef, you will need to make a reservation.
