Yunnan 2017 Cybersecurity Week activity kicked off in Kunming

[InKunming--Yunnan]  Yunnan 2017 Cybersecurity Week (from September 16th to September 24th), with the theme of "Maintaining Cybersecurity for People, Achieving Cybersecurity by People", kicked off in Kunming on the morning of September 18th. The activity is aimed at disseminating knowledge about cybersecurity and enhancing citizens' awareness for dangers on the Internet.

During the speech sector, speakers acknowledged the importance of cybersecurity, and they shared what they have done and will do to future secure our network in their areas of expertise.

Activities such as Online Cybersecurity Knowledge Contest, Cybersecurity Achievement Exhibition, etc., were also held along with the opening ceremony. Altogether 22 elite companies exhibited advanced technologies used to secure the Internet on the exhibition, which received lots of attention.

In the afternoon of September 18th, a seminar was held for experts in this industry, during which they shared their opinions on the newly published Cyber-Safety Act, independent technology research of software, coordinated emergency mechanism and the relations between cybersecurity and national economy.

At the same time, experts also called for more investments in talent training and digital workforce as they are hard cores in technology research and development.

Most importantly, experts and entrepreneurs analyzed the current situation of cybersecurity of Yunnan Province, pointing out that a lack of talents and weak base of information industry are the most pressing problems. They suggested that Yunnan should pay more attention to expert cultivation and seek more technological cooperation.

In the following days, activities will be organized in schools, telecommunication companies, public security organizations and communities with the purpose of noticing people attach importance to cybersecurity, take precautions against internet fraud and protect information safety.
