Exhibition of showing Dalbergia Odorifera lasts to June 22nd

[InKunming--Kunming]  The exhibition of Dalbergia Odorifera from Hainan Province officially kicked off on April 22nd at the new museum of Yunnan Provincial Museum in Kunming. Until June 22nd, people could take a free visit to the museum only if they bring ID cards with them. Citizens could admire the beauty of furniture and see rare wood of Dalbergia Odorifera.

The exhibition presents a rare giant Dalbergia Odorifera from Hainan to local people. The length of three pieces of wood reaches 3.7 meters and the diameter is up to 40 centimeters. At the same time, 16 sets of delicate furniture will be shown to the public as well.

“Yunnan is the well-known Kingdom of Plants. This exhibition provides people with an opportunity to know about the best furniture. “ Ma Wendou said, the deputy director of Yunnan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau. Dalbergia Odorifera grows too slow to satisfy the need of market. The simplicity of the appearance of Dalbergia Odorifera symbolizes the spirit of pursuing excellence.

The exhibition is held on the first floor of Yunnan Provincial Museum (the new one). People could enjoy a panoramic view standing at the viewing platform in all directions. The usage of natural light helps people get a better sight of the wood works.

It is worthwhile to notice that the intelligent tour system designed by Yunnan Mobile company was applied in the exhibition. When walking into the exhibition hall, people could just get all related details if they open tbluetooth or wechat from their mobile phones to scan the QR code.

This exhibition was organized by the Yunnan Provincial Museum, undertook by the Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts. It is in the exhibition that citizens get closer to Dalbergia Odorifera and experience charm of traditional furniture.
