Kunming and Switzerland to expand cooperation on low-carbon field

  On February 15, Kunming and Switzerland signed Memory of Understanding(MOU) for Sino-Swiss Low Carbon Cities in Kunming.

Li Zhigong, member of Kunming Municipal Committee, and deputy mayor of Kunming, Jean-Jacques De Dardel, the Swiss ambassador to China, respectively on behalf of Kunming and Swizerland, signed the MOU.

Under the MOU, Switzerland will help Kunming to complete city planning, conservation of old city, infrastructure construction, and low carbor city construction in next six years.

Li Zhigong said: "Kunming is speeding up its step to build an economic trade center facing to South Asia and Southeast Asia, an innovation center for science and technology, a financial service center, a cultural exchange center, upgrade its influence on environment, culture, history, tourism, and health. "

Target for constructing Kunming fully meets with concepts that are involved in the MOU, which initiates green, low carbon, and enviroment protection, said Li Zhigong.
