Yunnan Hani people's habit: drink tea boiled in clay pot

[InKunming--Yunnan]  In Honghe prefecture of Yunnan province, in the bottom of Ailao mountain, Hani people live from generation to generation.

Hani people, one of the national minorities in Yunnan, has an old habit that is to drink boiled tea from clay pot.

To drink the tea, the Hani people should firstly pour spring water into the clay pot. Then boil the water for a few minutes. Put some pieces of tea into the pot. Boil the tea in the spring water. Finally, drink the boiled water filled with tea fragrance.

When some guests drop in a Hani people’s family, each member of the Hani people's family would like to boil the tea in clay pot as they do every day. After the Hani people work and come back to home, they also would choose to boil the tea in a clay pot.

To Hani people, to drink the boiled tea boiled in clay pot at home is the best way for them to relax and to share happiness with close relatives.

Besides, Hani people has a habit to put the boiled tea into red rice. Each time when they have cooked red rice at lunch or supper, the red rice boiled by tea water distribute tea fragrance that attract people very much.

 
Honghe prefecture is a place that has mild weather and abundant rain, in which tea is easy to grow up. Hani people who drink the tea every day have healthy bodies and full spirits all the time. They inherit the habit in a long time.
