North Railway Station, a new metro station on line 1 and line 2 is officially opened on September 1 in Kunming. [Provided to InKunming]
[InKunming--Kunming] A newly built metro station, the North Railway Station, is officially put into use on September 1 in Kunming. From then on, residents can travel between North Railway Station and College Town in Chenggong District by metro directly.
The newly opened metro station has 2 entrances-exits. Entrance-exit B is located at west side of Beijing Road, which is not very far away from intersection of Beijing Road and North Ring Road. This entrance-exit leads to Beijing Road, North Ring Road and Changshou Road (长寿路). Entrance-exit D is sited at the east side of Beijing Road, which is near to the Railway Museum. This entrance-exit leads to Lianmeng Road (联盟路), North Railway Station, Shijijunyuan Hosing Estate (世纪俊园小区). Passengers can easily take No. 23, No. 3, No. 61, No.71 and No. 236 buses nearby. At present, barrier-free elevator has not been established at entrance-exit D yet.
It is said the opening of North Railway Station will not change the previous operation schedule of other stations on metro line 1 and line 2. Each metro will stop at North Railway Station for 40 seconds. Running interval of metros is still 5 minutes. Ticket price will also be executed according to current standard.
Metros that head for College Town depart on 6:36 every morning at the earliest and on 22:16 every night at the latest. Metros that head for North Bus Station depart at 7:14 at the earliest and at 22:54 at the latest.
