[InKunming--Festivals]  Double Seventh Festival, which also renowned as the traditional Chinese Valentine's Day, will fall on August 2 this year. Some traditional activities such as praying to Vega and Altair by girls, listening to Guqin music the Male Phoenix's Pursuit, etc., will be celebrated on that day in Jianshui County, Yunnan.

All of these activities will be held in the Confucian Temple of Jianshui County as usual. In old times, Chinese scholars who want to pursue fame and fortune would worship Kui Xing(Kui Star, a saint known in Chinese Taoist tradition), and the Double Seventh Festival is also deemed as the birthday of the star.

From 8 p.m. on that day, skilled Guqin players will play classical Guqin music The Male Phoenix's Pursuit to audience at the scene. The music tells a love story which had been read by Chinese people for thousand years and will absolutely become the highlights of all activities on that day.

Tourists who would attend activities on the Double Seventh Festival in Jianshui may experience ancient and solemn Chinese rituals and feel rich cultures of Chinese traditional festival.
