Wujiaba Airport was closed on June 27, 2012. In the past one and a half years, residents missed the airport, especially when flights were constantly delayed by weather at the present airport last year.

Reporters visited the used airport site on January 17. The former terminal has gone, leaving dusty glass doors and mottled walls.

An aged man flied a black kite on the used parking lot of the airport on the aftern00n of January 17. "I had planned to fly kites on the square for long. The planes used to take off here, so running a kite was not allowed. I heard that the building will be torn down soon. If so, I can only fly kites on the Haigeng Dam." said Zhu.

The airport logistics center near the airport has been turned into a commercial mall for medicine, herbs and specialties now.
