[InKunming--Yunnan]  According to Yunnan's Transportation Bureau, road tolls will be totally free for small and middle cars in the province during the forthcoming Chinese Spring Festival holiday, which will officially run from 0 o'clock of January 31 to 24 o'clock of February 6.

Apart from Yunnan, other provinces around the country will also see this policy.

However, on the Lunar New Year's Eve, which is not granted as a official holiday this year, vehicles still have to pay road tolls, according to the 2014 official holiday schedule released by the general office of the state council earlier.

In fact, the Lunar Year's Eve is one of the most important nights of the traditional Chinese calendar for ancestor worship and family reunion from time immemorial, and it has been placed into an official holiday since 2007.

Even though many residents have to work until the Lunar Year's Eve, the transportation system of the country has suffered great pressure under the approaching Chinese Spring Festival holiday.

During this year's Chunyun, which will last from January 16 to February 24, passenger volume is estimated to mount up to 3,623 million. About 12,000 flights will be added by the airlines to release the transportation pressure in the Chunyun period.
