Traffic on the new Road G214 that was affected by aftershocks in Deqing yesterday will be discontinued till 11 o’clock today (September 4). The Shangri-la--Deqin secondary road, two kilometers far from Qusha Bridge on the section from K213+760M to K214+120M, collapsed at 9 o’clock on September 3.

A witness said that a huge rock in a size of a SUV rolled down from the mountain and rushed into Jinsha River which was at a distance of 500 meters from the road.

As the rocks kept falling down, it is hard to clean the road. Vehicles can shuttle around Shangri-la and Deqin via the old National Road 214. (Editors:Lynn, Cathy Chen)
