The Yunnan Wild Animal Park has welcomed 3 naturally-hatched peacocks. It is the first time for the park to have baby peacock without the help of a incubator.

According to Yang Hong who work in the park, a female peacock disappeared a month ago. They looked around the park but failed to find her. About half a month ago, Yang found the peacock and her three babies.

"Poultries are born by artificial incubation in our park. This is the first time that peacocks are hatched in the wild." said Yang. The rate of survival of the peacocks are far lower than artificial incubation. A female pavo cristatus usually lays five to six eggs. It is of high hatching rate when three survived.
