Kunming's first metro line has resumed non-loaded test run yesterday(March 21). The test run had been suspended since January 8 this year after a derail accident left 1 dead, 1 injured.

The first-phase construction of Kunming’s metro line covers 42 kilometers, and was divided into two parts, of equal length. The north-south rail runs through Kunming’s urban area, linking to the Chenggong New Town.

The southern section that is undergoing the non-loaded test run includes 12 stops, linking the Southern Station of College Town with Xiongdong Village. It is scheduled to load people on May 31 at the latest.

The 18-stop northern section is expected to start non-loaded test run by the end of the year. (Editor:Minnie Mao)
