Yunnan issues Level IV emergency response plan to drought

More than 2.5 million people in 15 prefectures across Yunnan have been affected by dought. The Level IV emergency response plan has been initiated by the provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Office.

Fifteen prefectures, except Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, have been plagued by the drought from February 18 to March 10. And 10.71 million mu crops and 335,000 large domestic animals have been affected.

A total of 302 million yuan has been invested in the drought relief. So far, 2.15 million people and 1.11 million animals have been released from lack of drinking water. (Editors:Lynn,Minnie Mao)
