People in Kunming may take a high-speed rail to Bangkok in the future, according to Urban Plannings for Southwest and Southeast Yunnan from 2012 to 2030, released by Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Department of Yunnan.
A high-speed rail, passing through the province from north to south will be built to connect Kunming--Jinghong--Boten--Luang Prabang--Bangkok. Five railways, from Lingcang to Mangshi, from Lingcang to Xiangyun, from Lingcang to Baoshan, from Pu'er to Kunming, from Pu'er to Mengzi, will be built. On the facet of airlines, Xishuangbanna International Airport is expected to be a medium-sized airline hub. Three more feeder airports, in Jingdong, Langcang and Cangyuan, will also be constructed.
Three cities' positioning will get upgraded: Pu'er, the Tea City of China; Jinghong an international tourism city; and Lingcang "the Town of Dianhong(black tea)". (Editors:Lynn, Minnie Mao)
