A passengers' evaluation apparatuses have been installed in taxis and will be used for passengers to evaluate drivers' service in Kunming in October, according to Kunming Taxi Administration Office.
The apparatuses is right on the glass behind the taxis driver in a taxi. Passengers are required to grade the service by pressing one of three buttons with Chinese characters 非常满意 (very satisfied), 满意 (satisfied) and 不满意 (unsatisfied).
An LED screen has also been installed on a taxi to show the final evaluation with five lights in the shape of stars. The number of the stars represent the general evaluation of the service. It also shows two Chinese characters 空车 (empty) or 电召 (telephone booking).
Wang Wei (王伟) the section chief of the Taxi Administration Office said that drivers are asked to insert their certificate cards into an equipment before staring a ride, thus all information about the driver, including name, time of boarding, operation time, running miles and passengers' evaluation, can be seen in the Taxi Controlling Center that is able to prevent drivers from fatigue driving and know well about the service.
Wang also said the evaluation is mandatorily required according to the voice prompt before passenger's getting off. He also expects that passengers can take part in the evaluating and offering preferences for other passengers in this way. (Editors:Lynn, Minnie Mao)
