Kunming Zoo, which located on the urban-north Yuantong Mountain (圆通山), is the most famous place for cherry-blossom viewing in southwest China’s Yunnan province. As in previous years, the annual Cherry Blossom Festival was held here on Feb 19.
The zoo staff said that cherry blossoms and begonia flowers are in full bloom here, which looks like a sea of pink flower. Some of cherry blossom trees that introduced from Japan are expected to bloom in March.
A variety of activities will also be held at Kunming Zoo, such as: photography exhibitions, garden parties and the theme-based International Women's Day activities.
The festival will continue until March 18.
