Volunteers and Seton Villa residents decked the halls of a Burnaby heritage mansion for the annual Christmas at Overlynn celebration on Nov. 26 and 27.

The weekend event included a craft and bake sale and tours of the English arts and craft style mansion. Proceeds go to the Seton Villa retirement centre, which owns the mansion.

"We had over 1,000 people attend this year. It was record crowd," said Fran McDougall, executive director with Action Line Housing.

The annual event is the only time of the year when the public can see the inside of the mansion. McDougall estimated they raised about $10,000.

Seton Villa is run by Action Line Housing, a non-profit organization that specializes in affordable and assisted living for seniors. In 1970, Action Line bought the mansion and built the Seton Villa high rise. The City of Burnaby designated Overlynn as a heritage site in 1995. Overlynn Mansion is at 3755 McGill St. (Source: Burnabynow)
