Yunnan-US trade surges in 1st 3Qs

The foreign trade of Yunnan totaled $12.01 billion in the first three quarters, including the export of $7.32 billion and import of $4.69 billion. The U.S. becomes the third largest trade market of Yunnan with a year-on-year increase of 78.2%, totaling $ 810 million, reporters learnt from Kunming Customs.

The export of broad heading products grows stably and the advantages of the exporting of superior products emerge. The export of mechanical and electrical products still tops exporting products in Yunnan, reaching $1.61 billion. The exports of agricultural products remain stable growth, totaling $ 1.22 billion. Benefited from the zero tariff of ASEAN, the import of agricultural products covers 16.6% of the total import in Yunnan with an increase of 31.8%.

At present, trade between Yunnan and ASEAN totaled $4.47 billion with a year-on-year increase of 41.2%. The private enterprises are still main fuelers for the foreign trade in Yunnan, amounting to $7.05 billion. With a year-on-year increase of 22.9%, trade of private enterprises covers nearly sixty percent of the total trade in Yunnan. (Editor:Lynn)
