A Thai dance and drama troupe will perform from 3 to 4: 20 p. m. Sun., April 3 at StoneBridge Community Church, 4832 Cochran St., Simi Valley.

A team of dancers from Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, are touring and performing in colleges and churches in Korea and along the U.S. West Coast.

Dr. Esther Wakeman, director of the Christian Communications

Institute of the university, and her husband, the Rev. Rob Collins, will lead the seven professional dancers and actors.

The program will feature dances from the various regions of Thailand along with a traditional Thai melodrama with English translation.

The drama is a true story about a gangster whose life is changed.

The performance is free, but a freewill offering will be taken to help cover the troupe’s expenses.

The Payap University Communications Institute was founded 33 years ago to communicate Christian truths through the use of Thai cultural expressions.

The performers lead spiritual renewal programs using traditional and modern dance, drama, and music in schools and communities throughout Thailand.
