The 8th (2009) China's Cities Competitiveness Ranking List was released on December 30 in Hong Kong by China Urban Competitiveness Academy. Lijiang ranks first among "China's top 10 cities in terms of satisfaction" and Kunming ranks tenth. In terms of comprehensive competitiveness, Kunming ranks 21th and 30th respectively on the 2009 China's City Comprehensive Competitiveness Ranking List and 2009 China's City Development Competitiveness Ranking List.

Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Kunming Municipal Committee Qiu He(仇和) has also took his position on the 2009 Top 10 Heads of China’s Cities. (Editor: Minnie Mao)
