China’s President Xi encourages Dulong people to create better future

[InKunming--China] On Wednesday (April 10), China’s President Xi Jinping wrote a letter to Dulong people, an ethnic minority group of Yunnan Province, encouraging them to create a better future.

The Dulong people, who live in Dulongjiang Township, Gongshan County of Yunnan Province, had long suffered from poverty. A related representative of the people lately informed Xi in a letter that they were lifted out of poverty as a whole group in 2018 and villagers are enjoying a better life.

Then Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks Wednesday. He at the meantime encouraged the Dulong people to make concerted efforts to build a good homeland, and guard the border. 

Xi said he was very glad to hear the good news and congratulated the Dulong people.
