Kunming ranked 5th on CCTV’s Better Life Index

[InKunming--KunmingKunming was ranked at the 5th place among China’s cities on CCTV’s Better Life Index, which was published by CCTV(China Central Television) on February 22.

Wang Xiliang, mayor of Kunming, on behalf of Kunming people and the city acquired the title at CCTV’s office in Beijing last week. The other cities in China that won the same titles of Better Life as Kunming did are Nanjing, Changsha, Hefei, Guangzhou, Huhhot, Chongqing, Haikou, Zhengzhou, and Yinchuan.

Better Life Index, designed and complied by researchers of China’s State Statistics Bureau, and National Development Research Institute of Peking University, was used for valuing Chinese people’s satisfaction on individual lives and work, on public services and social governance.

According to the index, the city which was ranked on the top owns the greatest strength to bring happiness, security and diversity to its residents. Kunming, ranked at the 5th place on the index, owns the strength that brings happiness, security and diversity to its residents in a middle level all over China.

Results of the index were concluded from 1.30 million families in China over past 13 years. Chinese researchers summarized it as the world’s largest survey under the theme of Better Life.

Normally, people living in Kunming enjoy life to the fulfillment due to the city’s good weather, blue sky, and clean air. The index announced by the CCTV lately also proved this feature.
