Rare hoolock gibbon photographed on Gaoligong mountains in Yunnan

[InKunming--Yunnan] Hoolock gibbon, considered as the rare species in the world, was photographed recently on Gaoligong Mountains by Yunnan Tongbiguan Nature Reserve Management and Conservation Bureau according to reliable sources.

The bureau applied a set of intelligent online observation system for the shooting. Due to the shooting’s records, about 70 hoolock gibbons were photographed. 

The gibbons mainly live in Yingjiang area of Gaoligong Mountains, which is located at Zhina town, Yingjiang county, Dehong prefecture, Yunnan province.

Relative showed that there are less than 200 hoolock gibbons living in the world. Therefore, the hoolock gibbons are listed on the first national level of all protected wildlife in China. 

Besides the hoolock gibbons, some rare species such as phayre’s leaf monkeys, and great pied hornbills were also photographed on the Gaoligong Mountains.

All of the rare species are monitored by the Yunnan Tongbiguan Nature Reserve Management and Conservation Bureau 24 hours a day. The observation system was established in November, 2018.
