The reason why the “King of Camellia Trees” is given the name of “Dianqianhong” is because flowers growing on the tree are numerous and large, owning bright red color and a very long history as the Golden Temple Park.

At present, Kunming Golden Temple Park is holding the 31st Camellia Festival. The 400-year old camellia tree has become one of the highlights during the festival because of its bright red camellia flowers.
