40.72-meter-high! Chinese knot Kunming made earns Guinness World Records

[InKunming--KunmingAt 11 am on July 22, a giant Chinese knot which took more than two months to make, was titled as the world’s largest by Guinness World Records. It was produced by over 4,000 families from 14 kindergartens.

Chinese knot is a kind of peculiar hand-woven craft in China to carry forward Chinese traditional culture. As introduced, the largest Chinese knot was knitted by red velvet rope of 1.5 cm in diameter. The dimension of the finished products is 0.25 square meter. By June 30, a total of 3,786 Chinese knots had been produced through thousands of families. On July 1, the kindergarten’s teachers knitted these Chinese knots into a large one to challenge world records.

As measured, the large Chinese knot uses 113,748 meters of ropes, and the main part is 40.72 meters in height and 41.59 meters in width. The office from Guinness World Records certified the Chinese knot as the world’s most.
